ladies with purpose

Ladies with Purpose is a Village Academy young ladies club whose main purpose is to empower, mentor, encourage dialogue, build self esteem, cultivate growth, as well as, teaching to be positive role models and contributors to our community and our society. Our mission is to gather young ladies together to mentor and teach them to be leaders, build confident, and to help them realize their full potential, purpose and worth. Our vision is to continue to build, nurture and foster their self esteem, bringing out the potential within and giving them the tools they would need to be able to soar to any height of achievement.

MBK Mission is to cultivate a brotherhood in and across our district community that will help engage, empower, elevate, and enlighten our boys and young men of color in order to actively address disparities in the achievement and opportunity gaps of boys and young men of color and ensure their social-emotional and academic success.

STUDENT COUNCIL

The Student Council gives students a voice to make changes within their school community. We will work together to develop leadership skills, build relationships with the staff and students within the school, and develop school wide initiatives to build a school atmosphere based on what the students want.

CHESs

To build critical thinking within children, this can be accomplished by teaching strategy and understanding. Playing the game of Chess builds purpose, every move must come with a purpose to benefit every opportunity. Students can use the same practice in their everyday life, every move in life should come with a purpose to succeed in the future.

YOUTH COURT

Youth helps young people gain the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to serve on a youth court. Youth court practices will include: Restorative justice: respondents to take responsibility for their actions and repair harm caused by their behavior.

DANCE TEAM

Students will be part of the Spirit squad, performing at halftime of sporting events, as well as assemblies. Students are expected to hold themselves in high regard as they will be representing the student body. Students will also be expected to take care of their uniforms and poms as well as learn all the routines for their performances.

YEARBOOK COMMITTEE

Yearbook will allow the 5th grade students to take ownership of their own yearbook. They will be in charge of taking pictures of their peers and school wide events, planning the book from front cover to back cover, collecting photos and organizing them. They will be setting up the schedule to meet the deadlines.

A 10 week (October 3rd- December 11th) co-ed wrestling team complete with practices, dual meets, tournaments and a City Championship.
